This portable plywood panel support for my table saw is a very handy tool to have in my shop. It allows for greater stability and ease when handling full sheets of plywood, ripping them on my table saw. The outfeed table takes care of the plywood after it has been cut, but the infeed side would not allow me to use a table and still have access to control the plywood while feeding it through the saw. Even if I did have access, my shop is very tight, and there wouldn’t be room for such a table anyway.
This portable support stand is fast, easy, and inexpensive to build. It has proven to be “just the ticket” for my shop, as it is portable and will stow away with a minimal requirement for space when folded. It’s a little on the heavy side, but that is by design such that the stand stays in place and won’t move around on you during use. It’s like having another pair of hands helping out in the shop. I always planned on doing something like this, but only got around to it now. I wish I had made one many years ago.
If you are building this plywood panel support in the metric system, simply round off the numbers given in the dimensions in order to make it easier for you to build this panel support. None of these dimensions are hard and fast, and in fact, feel free to alter the dimensions of this support system, make it taller or shorter, wider or narrower, etc. as is necessary to work with your table saw.
The measurements given in the drawings can be regarded as general guidelines.
I built this unit using kiln dried 2 x 4 building studs and framing nails, plus a few deck screws. The only glue used was in attaching the triangular support pieces.

nice job ‘I’ve been using saw horses all along never thought of this, very clever ,usually the simple plans are the best and sometimes you can refit them to your own make them for your own saw ,etc. Keep up the good work
Thank you, Lloyd Johnston. Indeed, the dimensions on the plans would have to be altered to fit different saws. I have a Delta, Great White, Uni-saw, but it is on a dolly, so the height is taller than the same saw sitting on the ground without a dolly, etc. Of course, other brands and types of table saws will have varying heights, too.
