Riser Blocks! Simple, yet effective. Here’s a fast, easy solution when you need to raise the height of a table, bench, bed, etc. I’ve included a free drawing for those wishing to have one, but it’s not really needed by most folks. The dimensions are whatever they need to be to adjust the height of whatever you’re raising to suit your needs.

I used 5” x 5” White Cedar to make my riser blocks, but 4” x 4” would also work well. I simply used what I had on hand. The recess pocket I bored with a 1-1/8” Forstner bit is so the legs of the table would not slip off the blocks. You can choose whatever diameter bit size you need to suit your project. Note” I only bored about ½” (12.7mm) into the wood.
