Completely Outrageous! I guess I must be totally losing it in my old age, but I’ve decided to release the plans (FREE) for my (once very popular in the 90’s) “Bootstrap Dinghy.” I sold thousands of plans, worldwide for this sailing dinghy model. Makes a great tender (rowing or small outboard) or have fun day sailing with its sprit rig and dagger board. The boat has a generous beam for increased initial stability and load carrying capacity yet is lightweight and easy to build.

Here is a link to the Bootstrap Dinghy Customer Gallery page on my Shoestring Shipyard web site where you can see a few photos of customer built Boostrap Dinghies: https://www.shoestringshipyard.com/bootstrap-dinghy-customer-gallery/

The video briefly shows the (very reduced) plans so you can get an idea of what you’ll have to work with. They were drawn in CAD (the original Bootstrap Dinghy design was hand drawn) and step by step video instructions in 26 parts (averaging 5 minutes each) are available on my YouTube channel. You can find them listed by playlist on my YouTube home page under “Boatbuilding” or you can go to my YouTube home page and click on the “Videos” button in the menu bar and scroll through until you arrive at the series of videos. The tutorial shows me building an 8’ “Frugal Skiff” but the exact same building method, procedures, and sequences are used to build the 8’ Bootstrap Dinghy (and all the other Shoestring Shipyard designs).

Here’s the link to the first video of the tutorial series and all the links for the others are listed in the video description below each video in the series: https://youtu.be/OqTVSe4bWZg
