In November of 2020, I released a video called “Port of Call – Lubec, Maine” and this video became quite popular. I have received a lot of positive feedback, so I have decided to continue with a “Port of Call” series of videos featuring Downeast Maine ports.
The “REAL” Downeast portion of Maine is the coastline of Washington County, and it’s also known as “The Bold Coast.” I am now planning to begin a series of “Port of Call” videos featuring other ports along the Bold Coast beginning with my town of Milbridge. I did produce a video of Milbridge a couple of years ago, but it was more for the tourist arriving by motor vehicle. The new one will be aimed at the sailor visiting port.
I would like to hear your suggestions as to what coastal town here in Washington County, Maine that you would like to see included in the series. MY plan is to produce a Port of Call video every few weeks, interspersed with my regular boat building and repair videos.

This is a great idea Paul. I look forward to seeing the Ports of call that you eventually will be filming! We used to drive the coast of Maine, but usually it was a day trip and we didn’t get much further than Camden. We live in Topsfield, MA so it’s quite a drive. Hoping after this Covid thing is more under control that we can start traveling more. Any of the ports would be interesting to see! Really look forward to the Millbridge film as my favorite rug hooking shop is moving there this summer, Camp Wool. Jan in MA

We are well acquainted with “the drive.” We moved here from Cape Cod in 2004 and made several trips back and forth as we moved ourselves and kept our stuff in a storage unit. We bought an enclosed cargo trailer and made trips to pick up loads of belongings as we slowly had room to stow it here in Maine (we had built our own home). Most tourists don’t go beyond Bar Harbor and almost never venture far enough to see “The Bold Coast.” There are many hidden gems along the coast up here and when a person does finally wander up this way, they are totally blown away by what they discover.
