(S-7 Ep-38) Martha’s Diner

steak bomb

I was in Ellsworth, Maine the other day to pick up more building materials for my daughter’s tiny house build. It was lunch time and all the usual fast-food restaurants were mobbed and it was apparent I would not get lunch without a very long wait IF I could even find a parking spot (the drive up window lines poured out into the street)!

Enter Martha’s Diner. I’ve seen the signs while driving by for years but had never stopped in, but with no other options, I decided to give it a try. Why not? I was hungry and there were open parking spots available in front of the Diner. This turned out to be an excellent decision. I enjoyed outstanding service, an amazing “steak bomb” sandwich, and got to chat with friendly folks. The experience reminded me of the old TV sitcom, “Cheers” (where everyone knows your name). I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich containing an ample quantity of steak at a very affordable price, and chatted with the owner, staff, and other customers while I was there.

If you are ever in the Ellsworth, Maine area, you would be doing yourself a great service to try out Martha’s Diner for breakfast or lunch. It’s now on my top places to eat list and I’ll be back again soon.

Marta’s Diner, 151 High Street (U.S Rte 1 and 3), Ellsworth, Maine 04605 Ph: 207-664-2495
