It has taken me 4-1/2 months since making the 5k subscriber milestone to get around to finally holding my giveaway celebration. Sheesh!
I was in quite a quandary of deliberation. I did not want to hold a general drawing like I have in the past. I wanted to figure out a way to reward those who have been loyal viewers and have supported my channel rather than giving something away to someone that entered just for the sake of possibly winning something but never spent any time or effort watching my videos.
I finally came up with an answer that makes more sense to me and (I hope) will encourage others in the future to get with the program if they wish to become eligible for my giveaway promotions.
I want to give back to those who support my channel(s). It’s that simple. How? I’ll still do a random drawing but only drawing from the names of the viewers taking the time to comment on my videos quite often or at least on a regular basis. In this case though, there is a very clear winner as this person comments on almost every video I publish, including those on my smaller (Shoestring Shipyard Sailing) channel. So first place goes to this individual with more info in the video itself.
Who is the 2nd place and 3rd place winners? I’m still going through the past videos and compiling data on the comment contributors over the past couple of seasons (there are only a handful). These are the names that will be randomly picked from a hat to determine 2nd and third place. The 2nd and 3rd place winners shall be announced in a subsequent video that will be under a different subject and contained within the video content (yeah, you must watch the video to find out if you won). There will be no mention of the giveaway of winner announcement when these videos are posted (I know, it’s a bit devious of me). This method will serve to increase watch time and improve my channel stats with the YouTube algorithm.
First place winner gets a set of four Shoestring Shipyard coffee mugs.
Second place (future) winner will get two Shoestring Shipyard coffee mugs.
Third place winner will get one Shoestring Shipyard coffee mug.
As in all my giveaways: Winners will have 30 days to contact me with their US Postal address or forfeit the winning prize. My email address can be found on my YouTube “About” page. There is never any monetary cost to the winner(s) of my giveaways.
